New flights to Corfu, Mykonos and Faro GB Airways is to launch three new services from London for Summer 2007. The airline will start flights from London Heathrow to Faro, from London Gatwick to Corfu and from London Gatwick to Mykonos. The new flights will start in May 2007 and will be operated by Airbus A320 with Club Europe and Euro Traveller cabins. GB Airways’ managing director Kevin Hatton said: “These new flights add key destinations to our network. Faro is important for leisure passengers and a gateway to the ever-increasing second home market in the Algarve. These are the first full service scheduled flights to Corfu and Mykonos from the UK and open the islands up to the independent traveller who books their own flight on the internet as well as those customers who travel with our tour operator partners.” Corfu and Mykonos become the third and fourth Greek islands on the network having launched flights to Rhodes last year and Heraklion in 2004. The airline already operates up to four daily flights to Faro from London Gatwick and a daily service to the Portuguese island of Madeira.


DETAILS OF Portugal’s first ever six star hotel have been revealed following the government decision to allow construction of the luxury development to go ahead. Plans for the creation of a luxury hotel and apartment complex in Quinta do Lago were approved in Lisbon on January 18, by the Council of Ministers, who consented for construction to begin by September of this year.

Prices shown are for 7 days calculated from the time you collect the car to the same time on the seventh day.

Minimum period charged is 3 days. We may still be the cheapest hire available.

Rentals which extend across two months are charged at the appropriate price for the days in each month. They are not charged at the rate for the cheapest or most expensive month for the whole of the hire.

Prices include : Unlimited mileage in Portugal, Comprehensive collision insurance, VAT, and if requested an additional driver and baby seats.
There are no hidden costs for necessary "extras".

Charges and deposit are paid on commencement of hire. You do not need to send card details over the internet.

Driving to Spain requires a green card and bail bond issued by our insurers. The cost is 50 euros (30.80) valid for the length of your hire, please request in advance.

ACCIDENTS & CLAIMS
If you have an accident, theft or any other situation which will result in an insurance claim it is your responsibility to get an police report number. You need to call the police who will issue you a report number which must be delivered to Auto Rent. Without this the insurance will not pay. This is a simple procedure but if you have any problems you are welcome to call the company who will happily assist. If there is loss to the car and you do not obtain a police report you will remain liable for the damage. The car documents include full contact numbers for the company.

DEPOSIT
We do not charge a reservation deposit so you do not need to send your card details over the net.

We charge a returnable deposit of 50 EUROS on each hire against the return of the car with petrol, on time etc.. You may pay the deposit in EUROS or other currency or card.

EXCESS
The insurance policy has an excess clause. See price table for applicable excess band.
You may waiver the excess clause on optional payment of an additional premium or secure it by deposit of card details.

Excess waiver extension costs 52.5 euros per week (7.5 euros 4.60 per day )
Waiver does not include tyres, glass or locks or damage caused by speeding. Under Portuguese law insurance is void when drink driving

COLLECTING YOUR CAR
At Faro airport you will be met at Arrivals and your car will be waiting on our car park outside the arrivals hall. ( Park 4 Row G) You are not taken by bus to a garage. Our reps will complete your contract at the airport and show you to your car.

Cars may be delivered to your hotel at no extra charge. Delivery times will be as close as possible to requested subject to availability of staff. You will be given a freephone number to finalise your delivery details with our head office.

RETURNING YOUR CAR
At Faro airport you should return your car to the car park and then check it in with the rep. Please allow adequate time. You are responsible for the car till it is checked in.

Hotel deliveries , the collection details will be arranged with the rep when the car is delivered to you.

CAR TYPES
We invariably have the car that you request but due to damage and late returns we may occasionally have to offer you an alternative, similar or better car than the one you have requested. These circumstances are outside of our control and we would ask for your patience. We have never left a client stuck without a car.

The cars shown are the ones available at our internet prices. We may be able to arrange other cars from companies within the group. They are likely to be more expensive but we are happy to give you a price for your special requirements.

CAR AGE
Our undertaking is to provide a clean and serviceable car. Cars are retired from our fleet on the basis of condition and not age. Whilst the majority of our cars are less than 3 years old we are unable to give any guarantee as to the ago of car which will be supplied to any one hire

Sorry but we cannot hire to drivers under 25

BABY SEATS
We have conventional forward facing baby seats intended for children to approximately 3 years old and booster seats for children to approximately 5 years. If you have a particular requirement for your child we recommend that for peace of mind you bring your own child seat.

THE COMPANY
Your hire is with Algarvehire of Praia da Rocha. Full contact details will be given on your contract on commencement of hire. There is a freephone number to contact the office whilst in Portugal. The reception staff speak English.
